Terms of usage

The Grafis training version may be used for private training only. The use for lessons or the training at schools is not allowed. In case of unauthorized use or manipulation of the software we will take legal measures.

GRAFIS is a modern CAD software for pattern construction. It allows creation and modifying of pattern pieces, grading and output to printers and plotters as well as export of the final garment pieces in several data formats. In addition GRAFIS contains a marker making software, that allows the placement of completed styles and their plotting. Even the export for cutter machines is possible. GRAFIS is used in industrie, craft and schools.

Especially the interactive basic blocks open a new world of flexible and user friendly pattern creation and grading. This opportunity helps to save time and costs and makes GRAFIS to the perfect tool for made-to-measure patterns.

The free training version contains all construction and design functions of the regular version 10. In comparision to the regular version, the following functions are disabled at the training version: output of patterns, export and import of data, digitizing and editing of programs in the Grafis programming language. The amount of parts and the amount of sizes in the size table is limited.

Using this free training version and the textbooks part 1 and part 2, interested person have a good chance to get involved with Grafis autodidactic. The textbooks are available as PDF download. Interested person in Germany can order the textbooks part 1 (17 € plus transport) and/or part 2 (20 € plus transport). For sale of textbooks abroad please contact the Grafis-Team. 

On request we send our presentation CD-Rom for internet explorer free of charge. This CD contains a presentation of Grafis, videos about the new interactive constructions, the training version in maximum size and the PDF files of the Grafis textbooks. Please look regularly for new information at http://www.grafis.com.

Before starting the download please read carefully these remarks:

• To run this training version, at your PC in minimum Windows98 or WindowsNT4.0 must be installed. The screen needs a minimum resolution of 800x600 pixels with in minimum 256 colors.

• In comparision to the regular version the training version has some restrictions:
  Version 7/8: The functions for load, save and print of styles are disabled. The functions for size rule grading are not available.  There are no further restrictions thus all construction and design functions can be used and trained.
  Version 9/10: The functions for load, save and print of styles are available. It is also possible to open styles of the regular version, but not reverse. The training version is limited to maximum 20 parts in 10 sizes. The following functions are disabled in the training version: output of patterns, edit/create size rule patterns, export and import of data, digitizing and editing of programs in the Grafis programming language. All functions to control the new interactive constructions are available except saving of shapes.

• The download file has a size of up to 35 MByte depending on the version. When using an internet access via ISDN or modem please take a relatively long download time into your account. Especially if the internet is busy then the transfer may be cancelled because of low data transfer rates. For the download of big files we recommend the early hours in the morning (till 6 a.m.).

• Version 7/8: After successful download of the file, please copy this file to the drive where the training version shell be installed to (e.g. to C:). Then start the file (e.g. GRFS8DE.EXE or GRFS8EN.EXE) and you are guided through installation.
  Version 9/10: After successful download of the file, please start the file (e.g. GRFS9DE.EXE or GRFS10EN.EXE). The installation is carried out in two steps. In the first step all files for installation are unpacked in an temporary folder on your PC. In the second step the intrinsic installation will run. Later the temporary installation files can be removed via -> System Control -> Software or via Start menu -> "Grafis".

• The installation program creates a new entry in Windows start menu. Additionally an icon on the desktop is created. 

• To remove the GRAFIS education version completely, just delete the local folder C:GRAFIS.
